Hi, I’m Sergiu, a creative director, photographer, and founder of Chaos Magazine. I was born in Moldova and moved to Ireland at a young age, spending time across different counties before finally settling in the seaside town of Tramore.

My love for creating media started early. At 12, I made my first LEGO stop-motion film, and by 13 I was uploading Minecraft videos to YouTube. That creative spark faded for a while, but it reignited during the pandemic. While studying Criminology at University College Cork, I began filming skating vlogs and hosting a call-based podcast.

Not long after, I bought my first camera to improve the quality of my videos. I quickly became obsessed with photography, bringing the camera everywhere, capturing moments, people, and the world around me. After spending a summer in the U.S., I realised photography could be more than a hobby,  it could become a career. My creative focus shifted toward fashion, portraiture, and human expression. I also began experimenting with music videos and vlogs with friends, learning through each project and constantly pushing myself to grow.

When my photography submissions to magazines went unanswered, I decided to build my own platform. That’s how Chaos Magazine was born, my proudest creation to date. The first issue served as a portfolio of my favourite fashion and portrait photography, launching with a party at NV Cork that featured Chaos-themed cocktails and live DJ sets.

The second issue became a true collaboration, bringing together designers, models, and photographers to showcase emerging Irish talent. Its launch at Sonflour Cork reflected the energy and community that Chaos had started to foster. The space was transformed into a celebration of artistry and community, with live DJ sets, ambient lighting, and visual installations inspired by the magazine’s themes.

Then came CHAOSISSUE003, which marked a major turning point. The issue launched alongside the Carnage Fashion Show, a live event I organised and directed that merged art, fashion, and performance into one immersive experience. Carnage became more than just a launch — it was a statement about the creative potential within Cork and beyond, uniting artists under one chaotic, fearless vision.

After CHAOSISSUE003, I made the decision to pass on the role of Creative Director for CHAOSISSUE004 to focus on developing my personal career as an artist, while continuing to grow the Chaos brand internationally. My aim is to expand its reach, collaborate with global creatives, and bring Irish artistry into wider conversations across fashion, culture, and media.

From stop-motion films and YouTube vlogs to fashion shows and magazine launches, my creative journey has always been about evolution, pushing boundaries, embracing collaboration, and finding beauty in the chaos.

CHAOSISSUE003

CHAOSISSUE003 marks the magazine’s most ambitious project yet, showcasing over fifty talents across fashion, art, modelling, photography, and culture. Compared to the earlier issues, Issue 003 embraces a larger scale and a more experimental design approach, bringing together diverse creative voices in striking new ways. It reflects the growth of Chaos into a bold, multidisciplinary platform, restless, daring, and unapologetically artistic.
